[slicer-users] How to compile slicer under linux?

Hi -

The short answer is that you need to download and install VTK 3.2 (see
www.kitware.com) and unpack it. Then copy all the files from Slicer's
vtksrc directory into the vtk local directory and be sure to configure vtk
--with-tcl and --with-local. You should take a look at the developer
documentation on the slicer.org web site -- the process is described
there.

I don't know why the binary code won't execute - probably your best bet is
to build it yourself and see what happens. You may find that you need a
different version of tcl or something.

Good luck,
Steve
