Hello Slicers,

We are pleased to announce the beta release of Slicer 4.0.

Many new features including the new modules "Annotation", "Color" and
"Models" as well as python modules support have been added since the alpha
release.

Please be aware that Slicer 4.0 beta is still an early snapshot of Slicer
4.0, under active development. A few features are still missing. This is an
early unofficial beta release, new beta versions will be released before the
All Hands Meeting in January 2011 where the public announcement of Slicer
4.0 beta will be made (including feature list and tutorials). Nonetheless,
we are welcoming you to start using it now as we would like to hear from
your feedbacks (by email or using the Mantis).

We are grateful for the interest Slicer 4.0 alpha has already generated in
the community, but please keep in mind this is an early beta release and it
is not yet ready for general/routine use.
