[slicer-users] DICOM RT export problem

Hi Ahmed,

Models (or labelmaps) cannot be directly exported to RTSS, you need to create a segmentation node from that first.
Please switch to the Segmentations module, create a new node, then on the bottom in the Import/Export section select your model on the right and import it with the ‘<’ button into the segmentation. Next, in Subject hierarchy, move this segmentation in the same study as your volume (I think you need to export the CT too).
Then in the DICOM export window if you select the study, two exportables should show, and the export type should be RT (on the top of the list, automatically selected).

I haven’t yet had the time to update the Segmentations wiki page, but I will make all this info available soon.

Hello Csaba,
I managed to export the labelmap as RT but could not export the model (test_1_tissue), it does not show any description of the model as you can see in the image below. I’m still missing the rtss file.
Your help is much appreciated!
Ahmed

Hi Ahmed,

The DICOM(-RT) export has been upgraded, see details here
http://www.slicer.org/slicerWiki/index.php/Documentation/Labs/DICOMExport

The message you see in subject hierarchy is about whether or not you want to enable creating the tree. Is the message not understandable?

Hello Csaba,
Thank you for the link. I downloaded SlicerRT extension. Could not find DICOM RT export in the modules list. And when I tried to create a hierarchy I got this message below.
Any idea why I cannot see DICOM RT export?
Thanks,
Ahmed

Hi Ahmed,

Which version of Slicer do you use? I suggest using a recent nightly
http://slicer.kitware.com/midas3/api/rest?method=midas.bitstream.download&name=Slicer-4.4.0-2015-06-27-win-amd64.exe&checksum=8be1a78c220c9a1aff6c0347a264e430

Let me know how it goes.

Subject: [slicer-users] DICOM RT export problem

Dear Slicer User Community,

I had a question regarding using the DICOM RT export feature for Slicer ver. 4.4 for windows.

I am trying to contour a nodule on chest CT images and export the images (as DICOMs) with the contour (as a .RTSS) into the same file.

I have been able to perform this function on the Mac version of slicer with the the DICOM RT export module. However when I try to do the same thing in the Windows version it only exports the DICOM images but does not include the .RTSS file.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ahmed
